Why Harmel's Ranch Resort & Spa?

This is such a magical place for a Colorado wedding! Our wedding and reception areas are located on the back side of the ranch where we are surrounded by 1.6 million acres of the pristine Gunnison National Forest, a romantic backdrop for any occasion. Our ranch is centrally located in Colorado as well as the U.S. Of course all of you and your guest's time will not be spent at the wedding. Therefore we offer a myriad of activities: horseback riding, whitewater rafting, massage therapy, fly fishing, and rock climbing. Our facilities include: outdoor heated swimming pool (open Memorial Day to Labor Day), hot tub, sauna, recreation room, and saloon joining the back deck that overlooks the fabulous Taylor River. We have room for 150 people to stay comfortably right where the wedding & reception take place. Our 37 inviting cabins sleep anywhere from 2 to 9 people, 17 have kitchenettes. No more driving around town, it's all right here at Harmel's Ranch Resort and Spa!

Harmel's Wedding History

Harmel's hosted its first wedding in 1999. By word of mouth more couples have heard what a terrific job we do. Every year our staff has been praised for their diligence, efficiency and attention to detail. We define this as our best asset; Harmel's Western Hospitality.

Worried about the weather?

Colorado's blue skies are more common than cloudy days. Just in case, we have enough space to set up a rented party tent to set up at the chuckwagon and reception grounds. We also have a small pavilion area for the DJ, cake table, and presents.
 

Group Policy

Calculation is for the full amount. Deposit is 50% of the full amount due upon reservation. 100% refundable up to 90 days prior to the first day of your reservation. Full payment is due 30 days before the first day of your reservation or a cancellation will result with no refund possible.

Accommodations

There are 13 cabins located right around the reception area that we require you to rent. These cabins can sleep up to 55 people, double occupancy. Check-in time is 2:00 pm. Check-out time is 10:00 am, sorry we cannot give late check-outs on these dates. We allow well-mannered dogs to stay in our cabins. We ask you to keep them under control at all times (please see our Pet Policy). If any of your guests will not be staying on the ranch we ask they leave their pets at home. If there is damage to the cabins or surrounding areas of the resort the wedding party will be held responsible.

Rates

Our flat fee for the entire reception site, a small pavilion, picnic tables seating 160, bathroom facility, and Harmel's friendly staff for the event is only $650!

As for cabin rentals: typically couples choose to have their guests come in on the Fisherman's Holiday Plan. This is the basic cabin rate (meals & activities ala carte) listed on our website. Fisherman’s Holiday includes accommodations, use of the facilities, private fishing permits, and daily towels & trash service. Our Group Cancellation policy states you must cancel 90 days prior to the first day of the reservation to be able to receive your deposit refund in full.

Reception Dinner

We are fortunate to have one of the best chefs in Gunnison County, Scott Brown. Scott will be on his tenth season as Harmel's Head Chef. Hors d'oeuvres are served after the wedding and before dinner. Dinner is usually served approximately two hours after the start of the wedding ceremony. BBQ dinners $35 per person and Steak & Crab Leg dinners are $40 per person. Of course an alternate menu can be discussed. Alcohol is not included in dinner prices.

Beer & Liquor

Alcohol is available through Harmel's Ranch Resort. By Colorado state law, any alcohol served needs to be purchased through us. Fear not! Our prices are comparable to retail liquor stores. If you would like us to supply a bartender, at no extra charge, just let us know.
Seating for the Reception Dinner
We have 20 nice picnic tables that seat up to 160 people already at the chuckwagon grounds. If you would like the white plastic tables and chairs, linens, party tents & accessories we suggest Joe Dixon of Dixon Rentals in Gunnison. He is prompt, professional and courteous.
